How much does a website cost in Romania in 2026? Prices by type

In short
In 2026, the prices published in Romania for a brochure website start at a few hundred euros and reach a few thousand, and for an online shop they start at around 1,000 euros and can go past 10,000. The difference comes from five things: design, number of pages, texts and photos, features, and what happens after launch. On top of the starting price, every year you pay for the domain, the hosting and the maintenance.
If you have already asked for a few quotes for a website, you have probably received prices that differ by five or ten times. It does not necessarily mean someone is dishonest. Most of the time, the quotes describe different things under the same name. Below we have put together the prices published on the market, with a link to every source. And if you want to talk directly about your project, our 30-minute call is free.
How much does a website cost in Romania in 2026?
A brochure website, one that presents your business, costs between a few hundred and around 5,000 euros, and an online shop between around 1,000 and 10,000 euros or more. The low end usually means a template with a few pages, and the high end a design made from scratch, with many pages and features.
We did not find an independent study of website prices in Romania. So we did a small one ourselves: we read the prices published in 2025 and 2026 by agencies, freelancers and one quote-request platform and put them together, by type of website. Some sources give market ranges, others their own prices, so take the figures as reference points, not as rates.
| Type of website | Published range | Where it is published |
|---|---|---|
| Built yourself, on a platform | around €100 to €300 | trifumedia.com |
| Brochure website on a template, a few pages | around €300 to €2,000 | agerpres.ro, pronetdesign.ro, perfect-pixel.ro, trifumedia.com, adicoscai.com, necesit.ro |
| Brochure website with its own design | around €1,000 to €5,000 | agerpres.ro, pronetdesign.ro, trifumedia.com, bfmedia.ro |
| Standard online shop | around €1,000 to €5,000 | agerpres.ro, perfect-pixel.ro, bfmedia.ro, adicoscai.com |
| Complex online shop | around €2,000 to €10,000 and over | agerpres.ro, perfect-pixel.ro, bfmedia.ro |
Sources that give prices in lei are converted to euros at roughly 5 lei to the euro. The full list of sources, with their dates, is at the end of the article.
The table does not tell you which website is right for you. It only shows how wide the range is and why a single quote does not tell you much. This is what we do at Let's Web: we start from what the website has to do for your business, and only then do we put a price on it.
Why do two quotes for "the same website" differ so much?
Because "a brochure website" can mean very different things. From what we see, the big differences come from four places, which usually do not appear in writing in the quote.
- Template or own design. One quote takes a purchased theme and changes its colours. Another makes the design from scratch, for your business. You can see it in the table too: the two sit on different rows.
- The texts and the photos. Some write and produce them themselves. Others wait for them from you and do not include them in the price. If they are not in the quote, you pay for them separately or do them yourself.
- The features you cannot see in the quote. Bookings, online payments, customer accounts, the link to your invoicing software. Each one changes the price a lot and does not show in a line that only says "brochure website".
- What happens after launch. Some include hosting, maintenance and a few changes. Others hand over the site and disappear.
Besides these, the number of pages matters too. Five pages and twenty pages do not cost the same, even if they look the same.
What do you pay once, and what do you pay every year?
You pay once for building the website. Every year you pay for the domain, the hosting and, usually, the maintenance.
- The domain. The smallest cost, between around 7 and 15 euros a year for a .ro or a .com, excluding VAT (published prices).
- The hosting. From around 100 euros a year for a brochure website. A shop needs a more powerful server, which also has to be maintained, so there the cost goes up a lot.
- The maintenance. A few hundred lei a month for a brochure website. For a shop, from what we see, 250 to 300 euros a month or more.
What gets forgotten most often are the maintenance and the changes after launch. If the quote says nothing about them, every change is paid for separately.
Brochure website or online shop: what changes the price?
An online shop costs more because it does more. Besides the presentation pages, it has to manage products, stock, payments, deliveries and invoices.
In the table, a standard shop starts at around 1,000 euros, and a complex one reaches 10,000 euros or more.
What pushes the price up:
- how many products you have and how often they change;
- how many payment and delivery methods you want;
- the link to the invoicing or stock software you already use;
- customer accounts, discounts and subscriptions.
And after launch, a shop also costs more per year: more powerful hosting and more maintenance, as you saw above. A brochure website with bookings or online payments comes close, in price, to a small shop. What matters is what the website does, not what it is called.
What should you ask before you sign?
Ask for the quote to answer these ten questions in writing. If two quotes answer all of them, you can compare them fairly.
- Exactly which pages and which features are included in the price?
- Is the design made for us, or does it start from a template?
- Who writes the texts and who takes the photos? Are they included in the price?
- Are the domain and the hosting in our company's name?
- At the end, do we receive all the access details for the website, the hosting and the domain?
- How much does it cost per year after launch: domain, hosting, maintenance?
- What is included in maintenance and what is not?
- How much does a change cost after launch?
- How long does it take, stage by stage, and what do we have to give you, and by when?
- Is the website ready for Google: does it load quickly, work well on a phone, have a clear structure?
We wrote separately about what a website ready for Google means, in What is SEO?
How do you recognise a quote that is too cheap or too vague?
A good quote says exactly what you get and what comes after launch. Four signs should make you stop:
- It has no clear list. It only says "brochure website" and a price, with no pages, features or what is included.
- The website is not yours. The domain or the hosting account is in the agency's name, and if you want to leave, you have nothing to leave with.
- It promises what nobody can promise. "Guaranteed number 1 on Google" or overnight results. Google itself says nobody can guarantee the number 1 spot.
- It is cheap at the start, but with nothing about what follows. It has no maintenance, and any repair or change then ends up costing a lot.
A low price at the start does not mean a cheap website. Work out what you pay in the first two or three years, not only in the first month.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a brochure website cost?
On a template, between a few hundred and around 2,000 euros. With its own design, between around 1,000 and 5,000 euros, depending on the number of pages and features.
How much does an online shop cost?
Between around 1,000 and 5,000 euros for a standard one, and up to 10,000 euros or more for a complex one. The price depends mostly on the number of products, on payments, on deliveries and on the link to the software you already use.
How much does website maintenance cost per year?
For a brochure website, a few hundred lei a month. For an online shop, from what we see, it easily reaches 250 to 300 euros a month or more. Ask exactly what is included, because it differs a lot from one quote to another.
How long does it take to build a website?
With us, a landing page is ready in 3 to 4 working days, a website in 1 to 2 weeks, and an online shop in 3 to 4 weeks. The timeline also depends on how quickly we get the texts, the photos and the answers from you.
Why aren't your prices here?
Because every business starts from different goals, a different deadline and a different budget. We prefer to first see what you need and only then give you a price for your project, not a package.
